The Picton Magpies have
defeated the Camden Rams and will go into the Minor
Semi Finals this Saturday after winning of 24 points
to 18.
With the Rams already
securing three wins over the Magpies so far this season
they were the hot favourite to win, but instead they
were short fated after the Magpies stormed home with
the win.
The Rams had scored
12 points nearing the half time mark before the Magpies
decided to hit back, evening the score up.
After that the Magpies
were determined not to let the Rams take the win home
when centre Rob Chauvet forced himself over the line
to score another try just before the half time.
10 minutes into the
second half Brett Clark made an addition to the point
score charging over the try line for the Rams.
That was how the game’s
score line stayed up until the whistle blew for full
time with the Magpies ending up 24 points to 18 winners.
The Magpies are now
flying off to the Minor Semi Finals this Saturday.
This Saturday night
(August 16) will see the Magpies First Grade go head
to head with the Oakdale Workers at Narellan Sportsground
at 8pm, while on the Sunday (August 17) the Under 18’s
Paccon Plate take on the Mt. Annan / Currans Hill Knights
at 11.30am at Kirkham Park in Camden, and reserve grade
are to play the Oakdale Workers at Narellan Sportsground
at 1pm on Saturday.
